THE CULTURAL AND ECOLOGICAL EXPERIENCE

Please join Barbara Hines, Archaeologist with the Florida Public Archaeology Network on a paddle down the Wakulla River to discuss various archaeological and historical sites located along the Wakulla River. You will learn about the Paleo-Indians and mega fauna that once existed along this ancient waterway. Discuss the different groups of Native Americans that lived and depended upon this river until the Spanish arrived in Florida, and the role this river played in local trade between the Europeans and the Native Americans. The tour will also include several sites dating to the British and Spanish periods of Florida's history. Join us for a unique cultural and ecological experience on the Wakulla River!

T~n~T Hide-a-Way
offers guided kayaking or canoe tours for individuals or groups. We can customize the tour per your particular interests be it photography, birding, manatee watching, fishing or coastal kayaking. Prices vary per tour, depending on location and length of trip, but range from $45 per person to $65 per person or $35 to $55 if you have your own canoe/kayak.

Private trips off the Wakulla River to local rivers and creeks can be scheduled or you can join our regular scheduled trips. See Tour Schedule below. We travel to the Ochlockonee, Sopchoppy, Spring Creek, Wacissa and Aucilla rivers, as well as the coastline waters of Wakulla Beach, Shell Point and the St. Marks Lighthouse and Refuge.

Reservations are required and must be made at least 24 hours in advance for all tours. Our guides are American Canoe Assoc. certified instructors and certified Green Guides, they are enthusiastic paddlers with an intimate knowledge of the area. Tours are designed for your level of experience and conducted with professional and knowledgeable guides to enhance your canoe or kayaking experience.

Kayak Paddling Instruction

Our instructors are certified thru American Canoe Association and CPR certified with the American Red Cross. Call to get our schedule of classes. Deposits are required and are refundable per the guidelines set forth under tours.

Quick Start : 1 hour of class room and on water instruction. Basic
discussion on equipment, safety and paddling strokes and maneuvers. Rate is
$45 per person and is held Sundays at 9:00 a.m. with reservation.

Essentials to Kayaking I: 1 hour of in-house pre-instruction followed by 3
hours on the water. Rates are $65 all equipment furnished or $50 if you have
your own kayak.

Guided Trip Schedule

SCHEDULE YOUR OWN TOUR WITH THE SELECTIONS BELOW

Guided Kayak Saltwater Fishing Trip Enjoy half a day of saltwater kayak fishing
with Native Watercraft Endorsed Fishing Guide on the flats of Apalachee Bay. Location
to be determined upon tides and where the fish are. $150 per includes kayak rental and
fishing equipment, 2nd person $75. Reservations Required.

Cultural and Ecological Experience down the Wakulla River Join Barbara Hines,
Archaeologist with the Florida Public Archaeology Network and husband Jake Hines,
Certified Green Guide, for a kayak tour on the Wakulla River or St. Marks river. Various
archaeological and historical sites, different groups of Native Americans, and several
sites dating to the British and Spanish periods of Florida’s history will be discussed. $55
per person includes kayak rental. Reservations Required.

Wakulla River Manatee Observation trip Paddle the Wakulla River with Certified
Green Guide for a half day trip to observe the manatees and wildlife in the Wakulla
River. $45 per person includes kayak rental. Reservations Required

Full Moon over the Wakulla River Bring your camera for the panorama of colors as the
sunsets and moonrises while you paddle down the Wakulla River to St. Marks. Guided by
Certified Green Guide take your time to observe the wildlife and beauty. $40 per person
includes kayak rental and shuttle. Reservations Required.

INSTRUCTIONS AVAILABLE

Stand Up Paddleboard Instructions Meet at T~n~T for 1 hour basic instructions
in paddle boarding then practice your technique as you paddle on the Wakulla River
with your instructor. $65 per person for instruction and 2 hour paddle. Reservations
Required.

Intro to Kayaking Instructions & Wakulla River Paddle Meet at T~n~T for 1 hour
basic kayaking instructions with ACA certified instructor then practice your technique as
you paddle on the Wakulla River with your instructor. $65 per person for instruction and
2 hour paddle. Reservations Required.
